How BAS Coaching Can Help

For each of the challenges that my peers have impressed upon me over the years, I believe there is a solution.  Allow me to explain.

Too Many Systems?

By leveraging today's more cost effective integration software and hardware solutions it has never been more feasible to integrate seemingly disparate systems without breaking the bank.  I can offer my twenty four years of experience in navigating various BAS vendors, contractors, hardware and software solutions.  By exploring your system with you we can effectively evaluate where you are.  By looking at the systems I and others have built we can perhaps see where we want to go.  Then it is simply a matter of plotting a reasonable course together to get there.  We can do this!

Not Very User Friendly?

Well you are in luck!  That is my speciality.  I have always endeavored to make our system intuitive and easy to use.  Through continuous feedback from both administrators and field technicians, I have had the perfect environment to develop the skills needed to make day to day work more efficient.  There are so many programming tricks that come out of the daily grind of both working with computers and actually being in the mechanical spaces doing hands on work.  That is what I've been doing since 1996.  Let me put that experience to work for you in a way that you can afford.

Can't Integrate Cutting Edge Operations Tools?

The plaque on the wall says I led our school district to be one of the first in the nation to integrate Dude Solution's suite of web applications with our building automation system.  Other industry leading operation tools like FMX allow organizations to link their BAS critical alarms to their work order system, creating the ability to easily escalate serious mechanical failures before they become catastrophic.  Insurance companies endorse such tools and love the electronic trail of accountability they create.

These web based operations suites can also allow building administrators to easily schedule after hours events in a simple web scheduling tool that reaches into the organization's BAS behind the scenes to override the proper HVAC and lighting to occupied modes.  It is estimated that automating HVAC scheduling with such a tool can save more than 10 hours a week of mundane programming for a maintenance tech. Having walked through the development stages of these software integrations puts me in a perfect position to help you evaluate and execute the same for you.

Need Help Training Your Staff?

I have enjoyed training my organization's staff over the years as BAS and operations tools have become less formidable.  Lately I have been making tutorial videos (click here to view one) to help my staff grasp the ease and simplicity of using these softwares in order to serve our customers better.

Now, when an event is happening after hours and somehow the schedule didn't get into the system, it is easy for key facilities staff in all shifts to override building HVAC zones and outdoor lighting on with a few mouse clicks.  A video like the one below can be created using your system so that your staff will feel at ease using it.  I would also enjoy coming onsite to familiarize them with using their computers, phones or tablets to do these tasks until they feel confident about it.

In addition, most large organizations have at least one maintenance tech that is comfortable with computers and technology.  It is my pleasure and privilege to help you identify those people on your team and work closely with them.  There are many good training and certification opportunities through vendors like Cochrane Supply.  I'd love to help your key staff get the same certifications that I have been able to obtain to help your organization unlock the power of the tools already in your possession.
